Seattle, WA
Miao Miao Dang was born and raised in Luoyang, China. She came to the United States in the fall of 2006 and received a Bachelor’s degree in Behavior Science, graduating in 2013. She has worked in the early child education field, including Head Start and Early Child Education Assistance Program.
In 2021, Miao Miao Dang joined the Open Doors for Multicultural Families as a lead for youth programs. In her current role as program lead, she heads up Friendship Circle, a social-emotional learning engagement program for youth ages 5 to 13 and support for families.
As a person with a disability, she understands the challenges of getting resources to succeed. For this reason, her desire is to create a healthy, safe and inclusive learning environment where youth can feel a sense of belonging and community. Outside of work, she enjoys listening to music, reading and spending time with friends, attending local events and festivals, volunteering, and exploring the beauty around Washington state. She has embedded herself in the immigration community and volunteers at a local citizenship clinic.
