Heleya is an actor, teaching artist, and arts education advocate whose work focuses on how to use theatre skills across disciplines. She is Co-Director of Arts Education at Arts Corps, and Co-Executive Director of Teaching Artists Guild, working to support and bolster artist educators. Heleya teaches in the Youth Development program at Highline College and has served as faculty at The New School for Drama. She has taught with such organizations as Lincoln Center Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, The Center for Arts Education, People’s Theatre Project, Young Audiences New York, The Geffen Playhouse, The Los Angeles Music Center, The Orange County Performing Arts Center, and 24th Street Theatre. As an actor Heleya earned her Actor’s Equity card touring TYA shows to schools.
